Economic independence is one of the most powerful tools for restoring dignity.
For over 15 years, I have designed and led grassroots economic initiatives across India, Myanmar, and Malaysia — building sustainable livelihood systems for vulnerable and displaced communities.
My journey began in Kolkata, working with underserved children in informal settlements. I later supported local and Rohingya communities in Myanmar through vocational training and community-based development programs focused on resilience and self-reliance.
In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, I founded Greater Action in response to the urgent needs of Afghan refugee families in Kuala Lumpur.
What began as emergency relief has evolved into a women-led, UNHCR-recognised organisation operating an integrated refugee support ecosystem focused on long-term economic participation.
To date, we have supported over 1,500 refugees through structured, outcome-driven programs including:
- Sustainable livelihood development
- 2,500+ hours of market-relevant skills training
- Language education for 300 women
- Education access for 195 children
- Emergency healthcare assistance
- Artist development and creative enterprise initiatives
Led by a core team of 20 alongside dedicated educators and volunteers, our model focuses on building long-term systems — not dependency. Our programmes are designed to create measurable pathways toward financial independence, resilience, and community integration.
We work with CSR leaders, international schools, and purpose-driven organisations to create meaningful employee engagement opportunities and measurable ESG-aligned impact.
My long-term vision is to enable refugee women to achieve lasting financial independence, break intergenerational cycles of poverty and limited education, and build lives where they can thrive, lead, and have a voice — both within and beyond their communities.
If you are exploring strategic partnership, impact collaboration, or economic inclusion initiatives aligned with your organisation’s social impact goals, I welcome a conversation.
